About Big Box Watch

Big Box Watch is a website, launched in April of 2007, that revolves around tracking future retail developments of several major American (”big box”) retailers.

Currently, we are plotting developments from Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl’s, JCPenney, Ikea, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. These national retailers all have major expansion plans within the United States, or the opening of a new location will have a significant impact on the locale community. This list is subject to change.

The blog revolves around the expansion of these retailers as well as retail construction in general, focusing not only on individual retailers but also on construction or expansion of regional malls or
lifestyle centers.
