The Baros Maldives located at the North Male Atoll, pretty close to the capital city of Male, gives you the opportunity to feed stingrays; a wonderful experience. It is also a 4 star luxury resort that has many other activities.

As a welcome token, almost all Maldives resorts offers honeymooners fruit plates and flower decorated rooms on the arrival night. On request, resorts also arrange romantic candle-lit dinners on the beach and also champagne breakfast served in the privacy of your own room. Not to mention a private picnic on a deserted Island!

Most resorts in the Maldives have house reefs that are amazing, but few of them are as spectacular as that of Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. Having somehow escaped the mass bleaching that affected most Maldivian coral in the 90’s, it boasts a profusion of corals in marvelous hues of yellow and purple, blue and pink.

Well the government related institutions work from 8am to 4pm and the private sector tends to be open until 5pm. Banks are usually open from Sunday to Thursday. But if you are in your own resort island none of this will matter anyway!

The Maldives Tourism Promotion Board has a counter at the airport arrival terminal to provide information and assistance to tourists arriving in the country and provide a variety of brochures in different languages for guests. Yet if you book a resort in the Maldives it is very possible that they might be expecting you to take you there.

The many liveaboard cruise boats registered and operating in the country vary in size from 3 cabin sailing boats to much larger ones and offer facilities and services ranging from modest to exclusive.
