On Saturdays, I am going to try to go through some of the links that I’ve come across during the week but didn’t get a chance to write much about them.
This week there has been some buzz about the Home Depot’s new store concept (see: Home Depot takes wraps off small-scale store). Shrinking from a 100,000 square foot building to 45,000 square feet, the big box goes small box.
The Omaha World-Herald had a story about the pains of a 14 year old outlet mall (see: Outlet mall stays optimistic). Interesting story an outlet mall that was at once on top of it’s business but has been passed on by bigger and different types of retailer centers. The story talks about how the mall has been able to adapt and possible plans for the future.
Starbucks Gossip tells us that SBUX is coming to Bucharest, Romania.
Finally, like to thank some of the people who have been gracious enough to mention Big Box Watch this week. So thanks to The Consumerist, kottke.org, Curbed LA, TheStreet.com, MarcWorks, Fimoculous, FriendsWithManagers, var resa, and Daily Speculations.
