You may be wondering, what exactly is all of this?

I have always had an interest in retail development and construction. I read newspapers and look at the local planning board minutes and agendas. I like to know what is being built in my area before they break ground. I have always shared this information with people and I’ve found that most people seem to like knowing this information, too.

So that is the basis for the site. I scour newspapers, planning board minutes, and whatever information I can get my hands on. I’m looking for new developments and future construction for the major retailers in the United States. Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, JC Penney.. to name a few. Retailers that are rapidly expanding or developments that will have an impact on the local community, economically or politically, when they open (or when they propose to open).

I do hope people submit information and help me out with leads on new projects that I’ve missed.

My intention is not to be political. But I adknowledge that these new developments are highly politicized in many communities. That is why I encourage people to use this site to create a dialogue with their neighbors.
